Dell S2718D 27-Inches Ultrathin HDR Monitor

Dell is one of the largest monitor OEM on the market which has a variety of options when it comes to computer monitor. The Dell S2718D is particularly interesting because it features ultrathin bezels along with an entry-level HDR capability that could be very attractive for semi-pro users and enthusiasts (At 400 NITs, this is not the same HDR specs as television). This audience will also appreciate the 99% sRGB color reproduction.

With a resolution of 2560×1440, it plays in the High DPI display field and would be a very nice upgrade to a 27” 1080p display (I know, because my setup is 2×27” 1080p + 1×30” Quad-HD). Its extremely thin bezels mean that it is possible to build a very fancy multi-monitor setup using a few of these.

The Dell S2718D isn’t wall mountable, but it can be adjusted with enough freedom to satisfy most users. It is designed to be connected with HDMI 2.0 and has a dedicated audio line out if you want to redirect the audio signal to a speaker or an amplifier. Interestingly enough, it also has a USB C connector which can deliver up to 45W of power, which means that it should be able to charge the latest generation of laptops which come with USB C charging.

At $699.99, the Dell S2718D’s design and overall performance comes with a slight premium, but remains competitive within that segment.
