Car2Go is a car sharing service that’s live in some big cities in the United States. The fleet largely consists of two-seater Smart cars that users can share as and when required. The idea of this service is to eliminate the hassles in car ownership and just provide users with on-demand car sharing per their requirements. Two-seater Smart cars aren’t that good if you want to carry more people or luggage so Car2Go users will be happy to find out that luxury Mercedes cars are being added to the fleet as well.
Car2Go has confirmed that it’s adding Mercedes CLA sedans and GLA crossovers to the fleet in select cities. Aside from offering the luxury and comfort promised by the German manufacturer’s cars, these models will also offer a lot of tech features such as CarPlay and Android Auto support, high-quality sound systems, adaptive braking, blind-spot assistance, and more.
Unlike the Smart cars that feature prominent Car2Go branding, the company has decided to take a more subtle approach to branding with these luxury cars, they will be available in silver, black, and white colors with only a small sticker on the side to showcase that it’s a Car2Go vehicle.
Users will obviously have to pay a bit more for these cars. Car2Go is going to charge $19 per hour, $0.49 per minute or $79 per day to rent these Mercedes-Benz vehicles that have now been added to the fleet in Seattle, Portland, Austin, and Washington.
