Picking up the status of a CES 2017 Innovation Awards Honoree under the Smart Home product category, the BenjiLock will obviously make use of your fingerprint in order to unlock itself. In other words, there is no need to bring around a set of keys or to duplicate its key. Don’t get the BenjiLock wrong though — just because it relies on fingerprint technology does not mean it cannot be cut into half. It is more for the convenience of your part, and is more difficult to pick as well. The BenjiLock does come with a set of spare keys — and this would come in handy if it runs out of battery and needs to be “manually” unlocked.
As an added security feature, you know someone would have desperately tried to break into your home if your fingerprint no longer registers with the BenjiLock. This is because after several failed attempts, all information on it will be wiped out — which requires the use of the regular key to open it up.
