We’re sure many are curious as to what could have been the problem with the Note 7 that caused it to explode not just once, but twice, and this was even after swapping battery suppliers. According to a report from Reuters, it seems that the battery could have been the one at fault after all.
The report quotes someone familiar with the matter who claims that Samsung’s investigation into the issue is complete, and that they have concluded that the battery was the main problem. However this is interesting because like we said, the first recall blamed the battery and Samsung swapped suppliers, so what are the chances that the second supplier was also facing battery issues, right?
It was also previously suggested that maybe the design of the phone was to blame, but Reuters claims that Samsung had managed to replicate the explosions in their investigation and that it could not be explained by hardware design or software, thus leading them to conclude that it is the battery’s problem.
In any case whatever the problem is, word has it that Samsung will be officially announcing the results of its investigation on the 23rd of January which is next week, so we guess we won’t have to wait too long to find out.
