[CES 2017] While Lenovo might have been the first out of the door with a Tango-enabled phone, it seems that ASUS might have beaten them to the punch as being the first to offer up a phone that is not only Tango-enabled, but also a Daydream-ready handset in the form of the ASUS ZenFone AR.
What this means is that not only will you get to experience augmented reality technology, but with a compatible headset like the Daydream View, you will be able to experience virtual reality as well (not at the same time). The phone itself is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset and comes with up to a whopping 8GB of RAM, which is a lot as far as smartphones are concerned these days.
We are also looking at a sizeable 5.7-inch 1440p AMOLED display, and it will feature a 23MP rear-facing camera and will be running on Android 7.0 Nougat. We’re also looking at native storage ranging from 32GB up to 256GB, and there will be microSD support for up to an additional 2TB.
In terms of pricing, ASUS did not say how much it will cost but are expected to reveal it at a later point. As for availability, if you’re interested the ZenFone AR will be available come Q2 2017.
