Chromebooks normally cost under $300 and there aren’t really that many premium options for these Chrome OS-based notebooks out there. ASUS is looking to shake things up with its latest Chromebook Flip C302CA. This is a premium notebook that will be available in different configurations with the base price starting at $500 you can end up paying a lot if you’re willing to spend big money on a Chromebook.

The new ASUS Chromebook Flip features a 12.5 inch full HD multi-touch display with a 360 degree hinge that makes the device more versatile and useful. Configuration options include Intel m3 and m7 processors with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 128GB of storage.

Aside from its backlit chiclet-style keyboard, the Chromebook Flip also features two USB Type-C ports, one microSD card slot, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2 as well as an HD webcam. The notebook comes with Google Play Store installed straight out of the box so any and all Android apps will be immediately accessible.

ASUS is going to charge $500 for the base model which will feature the Intel m3 processor with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage. The configuration goes up from here and so does the price. A top-of-the-line model can very well cost north of $1,000 and that just might be too much to spend on a Chromebook.
