Apple Music Execs Tease ‘Something Very Special’

apple_musicWe have recently heard the rumors that Apple is planning to make a big push into original TV shows and movies for Apple Music this year. This rumor was given more credibility when Apple Music head Jimmy Iovine seemed to confirm those plans during a speech in which he suggested that Apple Music is about both audio and video.

Now that the cat’s semi-out of the bag, it looks like Apple Music execs are not holding back. In an interview with Complex, Apple Music execs Zane Lowe, Bozoma Saint John, and Larry Jackson spoke about the future of the platform, with Saint John teasing that they were working on something “very special” for it.

According to Saint John, “We’re developing something very special and we just want people to pay attention to it. My five-year vision is that I want every single person on the planet to be engaged on Apple Music. I truly believe we’ve created something very, very special. I don’t think anyone else can do this. I will scream from the mountain top until everyone knows.”

It is unclear as to what this is or whether or not it is tied to the rumors that Apple Music will soon offer up original video programming which will put it in competition with the likes of Netflix and Amazon. No word on when these new features will be announced, but we wouldn’t be surprised if it made its debut at WWDC 2017 later this year.
