This is why it doesn’t come as a surprise to learn that in Greenpeace’s latest Clicking Clean report (via 9to5Mac), it seems that Apple has been acknowledged by the organization as being the most environmentally-friendly tech company for the 3rd year in a row. The report says that not only is Apple doing their part for the environment, but are pushing others such as governments and their supply chain to do the same.
“Apple retains its leadership spot for the third year in a row among platform operators. Both Apple and Google continue to lead the sector in matching their growth with an equivalent or larger supply of renewable energy, and both companies continue to use their influence to push governments as well as their utility and IT sector vendors to increase access to renewable energy for their operations.”
The report also found that companies such as Apple and Facebook are leading the way in terms of being open on how their data centers operate despite there being stiff competition.
