Last year at Google I/O, the company took the wraps off Android Wear 2.0. However for some reason Google delayed its release to early 2017 as Google had apparently wanted to address some of the concerns and feedbacks that developers had. So when in 2017 can users expect the update?Turns out it should be out in the next few weeks, or at least that’s what famed leakster Evan Blass is claiming on Twitter. According to Blass, he claims that Android Wear users can look forward to the update which should be launched on the 9th of February, 2017. We’re not sure if this is a global rollout for if it will be released region by region, but either way we guess it will begin on the 9th of February.
Google has not said anything yet so naturally you should take it with a grain of salt. However if you are wondering if your device is eligible for the Android Wear 2.0 update, this was previously confirmed to include the Moto 360 Gen 2; Moto 360 Sport; LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE; LG Watch Urbane; LG G Watch R; Polar M600; Casio Smart Outdoor Watch; Nixon Mission; Tag Heuer Connected; Fossil Q Wander; Fossil Q Marshal; Fossil Q Founder; Michael Kors Access Bradshaw Smartwatch; Michael Kors Access Dylan Smartwatch; Huawei Watch; Huawei Watch Ladies; Asus ZenWatch 2; and the Asus ZenWatch 3.
A February release kind of makes sense as an LG smartwatch was recently spotted at the FCC. It is expected that the device would be running on Android Wear 2.0 and could make an appearance at MWC 2017, so with an early February release, it would line up with MWC which takes place towards the later part of the month.
