Xiaomi has launched some very impressive smartphones this year including but not limited to the Mi Note 2. It’s a flagship in its own right and one of its biggest selling points is the dual edge curved display similar to the one you find on the Galaxy S7 Edge. It was rumored at one point that Xiaomi might launch a variant of the Mi Note 2 with a flat display but the company has now confirmed that this isn’t going to happen.
The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 features a Snapdragon 821 processor with up to 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage. It also features a 22.5 megapixel rear camera. The main attraction is its 5.7 inch full HD AMOLED dual edge curved display.
Soon after this handset was confirmed, it was rumored that a flat display variant was in the pipeline. The handset was also spotted on TENAA which is China’s version of the FCC. That might have been enough for many to think that it was just around the corner but that’s not the case.
Xiaomi’s marketing director Zang Zhiyuan has confirmed via the company’s official blog that there’s not going to be a flat display variant of the Mi Note 2. Fans of the company who were holding out for it will now have to make their peace with the Mi Note 2 that Xiaomi is currently selling.
