The good news for photographers is that if you love capturing in RAW, VSCO has announced that its app for the iPhone/iOS devices will now support RAW. This means that you’ll be able to import RAW images from your hard drive, cloud storage, or even from your camera (if it has wireless transfer) and edit it using the VSCO app.
According to VSCO, “In our latest update, full RAW image support includes RAW capture, importing and editing, offering greater creative control by preserving an image’s original data and capturing exactly what your camera sees. With RAW, you’re able to recover lost highlight detail, freely adjust color balance, and bring out the full potential of RAW images from both your iPhone and DSLR camera.”
VSCO is definitely not the first app to support RAW as several months ago, Lightroom for iOS got a similar update. That being said if you want to take advantage of VSCO’s new feature, you’ll need the iPhone 6s, 6s+, 7, 7+, or SE with iOS 10 installed.
