Unfortunately it seems that someone did not get the memo that such jokes aren’t funny because in a recent Virgin flight in the US, another “Galaxy Note 7” WiFi hotspot was spotted. In a tweet by Lucas Wojciechowski, he managed to grab a screenshot of the offending WiFi hotspot name. In fact once the crew found out, the captain of the flight threatened to land the plane early if the person did not confess.

According to Wojciechowski, an announcement was made which said, “This isn’t a joke. We’re going to turn on the lights (it’s 11pm) and search everyone’s bag until we find it. This is the captain speaking. Apparently the plane is going to have to get diverted and searched if nobody fesses up soon.”
Eventually the “prankster” came forward and confessed and confirmed that it was not a Galaxy Note 7. According to the BBC, it seems that no further action was taken against the passenger for their “joke”.
