Now Vine by itself could capture video that allowed users to upload to its platform, however now that it will exist as a standalone camera app, those features are gone but users can still use it to snap photos and videos. Dubbed Vine Camera, the 6-second looping videos that made Vine famous is still there, it’s just that there will no longer be a Vine social network to share those videos with anymore.
According to Vine’s announcement on Medium, they will also help Vine users convert their followers into Twitter followers through notifications, but it will still be up to that person whether or not they choose to follow you. “In the coming days we’re also rolling out a way to make it easy for your Vine followers to follow you on Twitter — stay tuned for a “Follow on Twitter” notification soon.”
Vine is also reminding users that their videos that were uploaded to the social network can be downloaded and saved through the app or the website, so if you want to keep all your uploads for nostalgic purposes, you will be able to do so. More information can be found on Vine’s FAQ page.
