There are many tablets available in today’s market, but if you’re looking for a tablet to give your kids, you might be interested to learn that Verizon has recently announced the GizmoTab. This is a tablet that has been designed for kids in mind, so if you’d rather not shell out hundreds of dollars for an iPad, this could be a kid-friendly alternative.
So what can we expect for the GizmoTab? We guess kids that this tablet is aimed at probably won’t care too much about specs, but for adults who are buying it, it features an 8-inch display with a 1920×1200 resolution. Under the hood, an octa-core Snapdragon 617 chipset can be found with 16GB of storage and a microSD card slot.
We’re also looking at an 8MP rear-facing camera, a 5MP front-facing camera, Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow preinstalled, and a decently sized 5,100mAh battery. Moving onto the educational factor, the GizmoTab will also come with 300 premium educational apps, a Parent Dashboard that gives them control and an overview of how their kid uses the tablet, such as what apps can be used, as well as controlling passwords and accounts.
The tablet is priced at $250 outright, or alternatively customers can get one for $80 with a two-year agreement, or a $0 downpayment followed by $10.41 per month over the course of the next 24 months.
