While the MacBook Pro’s Touch Bar feature was first unveiled, many were quick to dismiss the feature as a novelty. However as the reviews started to roll in, it seemed that many were soon finding out how indispensable the feature has become, especially amongst users who use their MacBook Pros for photo and video editing.
That being said if you’re a Spotify user, you will be pleased to learn that Spotify has updated its macOS app and it will now come with Touch Bar support. What this means is that just like Apple Music/iTunes, users will be able to control the media playback on their laptops via the Touch Bar and do things like pause/play, skip tracks, scrub through a track, shuffle, and even launch a search box so that users can search for songs.
We would have expected that Spotify will eventually add support for Touch Bar as it makes sense, and we’re glad that we didn’t have to wait too long for it. In addition to Touch Bar support, there is also support for Apple’s AirPods headphones in which Spotify will now be able to automatically pause the music when it detects that one of the AirPods has been taken out of the user’s ear. It will also be able to automatically resume playback once the earbuds are put back in.
