Qualcomm hasn’t really provided the official specifications of the Snapdragon 835 processor but the company has confirmed that the next-generation chip is going to be manufactured by Samsung on its 10nm process. It also confirmed that the new chip is going to have support for QuickCharge 4.0. Purported specs of the Snapdragon 835 have been leaked previously and today a benchmark result shows that it may have an octacore CPU coupled with the powerful Adreno 540 graphics processor.
The Snapdragon 835 benchmark result from GFXBench reveals that it has a 2.2 GHz octacore processor. The chipset appears to have eight Kryo CPU cores clocked at 2.2 GHz.
The smartphone that has been benchmarked with the Snapdragon 835 on GFXBench features 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage. It might very well be one of the prototypes on which the Snapdragon 835 is being put through its paces. Benchmark results also show that the Adreno 540 graphics processor is going to be almost 30 percent faster than its predecessor the Adreno 530 in the Snapdragon 821.
None of these specs have been officially confirmed as yet so take them with a grain of salt. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 is going to power flagship devices destined for release in 2017. We can expect to see devices powered by this processor hit the market early next year, the Galaxy S8 might be the first handset to be powered by the Snapdragon 835 at least in some markets.
