Samsung Unwilling To Give Additional Compensation To Note 7 Owners

galaxy-note-7-s-pen_02-tipFollowing the fiasco that was the Note 7’s battery explosions and global recall, Samsung has done a lot to try and appease their customers. They have taken out full-page apology ads in newspapers, they’ve also given customers credit towards their next smartphone purchase, and they’re even giving customers 50% off the Galaxy S8.

Safe to say that Samsung has been doing everything they can to minimise the damage from the fallout. However it seems that they have since drawn the line at additional compensation. A report from The Korea Herald (via SamMobile) has revealed that customers in Korea have sued Samsung over the Note 7 and are asking the company to pay them 500,000 won for the time and money spent over the Note 7, as well as physical and mental shock.

However it seems that Samsung doesn’t think that this is warranted. In a response to these claims, Samsung said, “We gave enough compensations and benefits to Note 7 consumers. The damages consumers are claiming are within the range that is endurable.” They also add, “We recalled all the products resulting in a loss of nearly 10 trillion won in order to minimize risk that consumers may face.”

What do you guys think? Has Samsung done enough, or do you think that they are still obligated to try and keep their customers happy?
