Plex Media Player has constantly been improved ever since it was launched and now it’s getting even better. A proper desktop mode has been launched for the Plex Media Player which will let users switch to TV UI as easily as going full-screen, they will also be able to continue using the mouse and keyboard. That’s not even the best part, Plex Media Player is now available for download absolutely free for everyone.
A Plex Pass is no longer required to access Plex Media Player so those who have been on the fence now have every reason to check it out.
Some might have considered moving over to Kodi, a Plex alternative, which the company acknowledges is a powerful media player. Kodi is aimed at more advanced users who like to tinker with every aspect and Plex now wants to cater to them as well which is why it has launched an
official Plex add-on for Kodi.
It has worked closely with some of the best Kodi add-on developers to create a fully immersive Plex experience inside Kodi. Users get the same Plex server discovery, library browsing, user switching, and media playback experience with additional settings and options powered by Kodi.
The Plex for Kodi add-on is available as a Plex Pass only preview right now and it’s available from the new Plex for Kodi forums.
