So much so that it players of the game have decided to show their appreciation for Blizzard by launching a crowdfunding campaign for cookies that they will be shipping off to Blizzard’s offices in time for the holidays. The original plan involved sending 250 cookies to Blizzard, with an estimated cost at $2.50 per cookie, and factoring in shipping and what not the goal that was set was at $625.
The project’s description reads, “The /r/Overwatch community (and /u/HiHaterslol specifically) had a great idea to send cookies to the wonderful folks of Blizzard Entertainment. They have crafted an amazing game experience that has provided us collectively with thousands of hours of entertainment. Along the way they’ve been amazingly communicative and provided wonderful and consistent updates. I think a lot of us agree they deserve a special thank you!!”
However it seems that the project got so popular that they have managed to raise over $2,000, and with 6 days left, we reckon they could end up raising more. However since Blizzard probably doesn’t need $2,000 worth of cookies, the company suggested to the organizers that the difference (after the cookies) should be donated to charity, which they have chosen to be Child’s Play.
This is a charity that works with hospitals that gives out toys and games to children, as well as to be used in therapy centers. If you’d love to donate to this cause, or maybe you just want to show your thanks to Blizzard for being so amazing, hit up the Indiegogo page for the details.
