Seeing early iPods pop up on eBay isn’t new, and for the most part the devices are priced around the $20,000 range. However this has changed as it has been spotted that there is an original unopened first-gen iPod on eBay that is currently being priced at a whopping $200,000 for the collectors out there.
Clearly this isn’t aimed at users looking for a new media player. However if you are a collector of tech history, the iPod is a good device to have. After all it not only revolutionized the music industry, but it helped to pave the way for Apple to launch the iPhone. Even though the iPod is no longer being refreshed or given much attention to these days by Apple, there is no denying the impact it has had on the tech industry.
The first-gen iPod that is currently being sold offers up 5GB of storage and approximately 10 hours of battery life before needing a recharge. However we guess that’s not why anyone would choose to drop that much money on it, right? We’re not sure if there are any takers for the iPod, but its seller seems to have a relatively decent feedback rating of 90% with over 888 feedback.
In any case if you’re interested to take a look at it, you can do so by heading on over to its eBay listing.
