Oppo U.S. Launch Expected Soon

Chinese manufacturers are increasingly focusing on the lucrative opportunities that the U.S. market offers them as they seek to expand globally. Xiaomi has made no secret of its intention to expand to the United States, LeEco has already done that in a big way, and now a new report suggests that Oppo is looking to do the same.

It’s claimed in the report that the Oppo U.S. launch might take place soon. Apparently, it’s trying to launch itself in the country before the end of 2016. The new year is just twenty days away so time is running out and Oppo hasn’t confirmed anything about this officially as yet.

Oppo is not a household name in the United States when it comes to smartphones. Most China-based vendors aren’t and that’s one of the big problems that they have to overcome in order to take on existing players like Samsung and Apple. Huawei has been trying to pull this off as well and it has fared better than some of its Chinese rivals.

However, Oppo has been seeing strong growth elsewhere. Data suggests that it shipped more than 25 million smartphones in the third quarter this year, making it the fourth largest smartphone vendor in the world with a market share of 7 percent.

The U.S. is a tough market to crack, particularly for companies based in China, so it will be interesting to see how Oppo goes about doing that if it ends up launching in the United States before the end of 2016.
