So this year Nintendo did what they swore they would never do, which is to release a game on mobile. We got two games this year in the form of Miitomo and Super Mario Run. However moving forwards into the future, Nintendo expects to keep up this momentum and potentially increase the number of releases as well.
This is according to a recent interview with Kyoto Shimbun in which Nintendo’s president, Tatsumi Kimishima, revealed the company’s plans to release 2-3 mobile titles a year. Like we said this year they’re already release 2 titles so it looks like things are already going to plan, and next year we know that there are at least two titles to look forward to: Animal Crossing and Fire Emblem.
We’re not sure what the third potential title could be, but if you have enjoyed the company’s releases so far, then 2017 could be worth looking forward to. That being said while Super Mario Run does mark a milestone for the company, many gamers weren’t too thrilled about its $10 price tag that is required if gamers want to unlock all of its levels.
Nintendo has recently created a survey in which they asked gamers how much they would have been willing to pay for the game, which we reckon is to help the company come up with better prices in the future.
