There have been a lot of rumors and reports recently about Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy A (2017) series. A few weeks ago it was reported that the new series might have IP68 water and dust resistance certification. Samsung hasn’t confirmed much about the upcoming series but its latest teaser at least confirms the water resistance bit. The teaser was posted online by Samsung Mobile Malaysia earlier today and it points to a possible launch at CES 2017 next month.
The teaser posted by Samsung Mobile Malaysia earlier today reads “It All Begins With A. Hold Your Breath,” complete with water droplets. One doesn’t really have to think too hard to determine what the implication here is.
Like many other companies, Samsung is going to showcase several new products at the Consumer Electronics Show 2017 next month. Recent reports suggest that the Galaxy A3, Galaxy A5, and Galaxy A7 (2017) will all be unveiled at CES 2017.
These mid-range smartphones are likely to see a wide release in various markets across the globe. No information about pricing and availability has been leaked online as yet but the new handsets are likely going to cost about the same as their predecessors.
Water resistance in a mid-range lineup like the Galaxy A series is a big step up for Samsung’s budget offerings and customers are certainly going to appreciate the addition.
