oneplus-2-review-16Earlier today we reported that OnePlus had pushed out the OxygenOS 3.5.5 update to the OnePlus 2 handset, bringing about support for VoLTE to the device. However if you have yet to update to the latest version of OxygenOS, maybe you might want to skip this update because it seems that quite a few users are reporting network drops following the update.

However thankfully it seems that this could be an isolated case as the reports on the OnePlus forums seem to stem from users in India on the Jio and Airtel networks. It is unclear if users in other countries on other networks are similarly affected, but for now it seems to be limited to India and also to those who are using two SIM cards at once.

Users are claiming that using the phone on WiFi is not an issue, but once they’re out of WiFi range and switched to mobile data, that’s when the network drops start to happen. A workaround has been found in which users can disable the second SIM card slot in the settings, but that kind of defeats the purpose of having a dual SIM smartphone in the first place.

Some are also suggesting a network reset, but that workaround doesn’t seem to work for everyone. OnePlus claims that they are investigating the problem and hopefully they’ll have an answer for us soon. In the meantime if you’d like to avoid any issues, maybe hold off on updating for now unless you absolutely need to.
