Motorola Droid Turbo Android 6.0.1 Update Finally Arrives

It has been a long time since Android 6.0.1 was first released but there are still some devices out there that haven’t been updated to this release even though it’s more or less outdated by now. Motorola Droid Turbo owners can rejoice today as this update is finally rolling out for their device. Verizon has released the Motorola Droid Turbo Android 6.0.1 update.

The update has been in testing for more than a month now and it has already been a very agonizing wait for those who own this handset. Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow is no longer the most recent iteration of Android, it has long been succeeded by Android 7.0 Nougat, and yet the carrier has taken its sweet time in bringing this update to the Droid Turbo.

Many Droid Turbo users have reported that they’ve received the over-the-air update from Verizon that has finally bumped up their handset to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. The carrier is yet to update its support page for the device but it’s only a matter of time before it does that.

While it’s unclear whether this update features the latest security patch from Google, but it does bring a couple of new features like Wi-Fi calling, Doze mode, and Google Now on Tap.

Motorola Droid Turbo owners on Verizon should now keep their eyes open for an over-the-air update notification. They should receive one soon if they haven’t already.
