According to the IDC’s latest figures, Xiaomi is in second place as far as the wearables market is concerned. Xiaomi isn’t exactly known for their wearables, but the affordable price tag on its Mi Band has led to many adopting it, especially since for the most part it does what most fitness bands do when it comes to the basic features, and sometimes that’s good enough.
It looks like Xiaomi might have a competitor because Meizu has recently taken the wraps off the Meizu H1 Band, a new fitness band from the company that is priced at around $33. In terms of features, it seems that for a $33 device it is actually rather feature-rich. It will come with an OLED screen that will display information of the wearer, like step count, calories burnt, and heart rate.
It also comes with a sleep-tracking feature so if you want to know how your nights are spent, then the H1 Band will do the job. It will be able to break it down between light and deep sleep if you are interested. The H1 will also be able to double up as an alarm, and since it pairs with your smartphone, it will be capable of receiving notifications such as phone calls and messages.
Unfortunately for now it seems that the Meizu H1 Band is only available in China because that’s where the pre-orders are taking place, and there’s no word on whether or not it will find its way stateside.
