Over the past few years, LG has taken the wraps off their LG Tone series of headsets. These headsets aren’t exactly headphones, but are more like neckbands with built-in speakers where instead of plugging into your ears, they are wrapped around your neck with the sound projected at you.
It seems that the company has some new Tone devices in the works and has announced the Tone Studio and Tone Free devices that they are planning on showing off at CES 2017. With the Tone Studio, this particular device will come with four speakers built into it, with two at the top and two at the bottom, with the idea that it will help create a surround sound-like experience.
The Tone Free on the other hand represents a bit of a change in the Tone lineup as these come with wireless earbuds. Users can still wear the neckband around their neck and when the earbuds are plugged into it, it will help to charge them as well in addition to providing a more secure way of carrying them with you.
Pricing and availability have yet to be determined but we reckon LG will probably have more details to share come CES 2017 which kicks off next week, so do check back with us then for the rundown.
