It was reported a couple of months ago that Microsoft will soon add a blue light filter to Windows 10 so that users can find it a bit easier to see the display in low light. Blue light filters are also great when using devices like notebooks and smartphones in bed at night. The latest Windows 10 leaked build includes the blue light filter. The feature simply makes the display emit blue light and comes with several options that can be tweaked for a more personalized viewing experience.
The latest Windows 10 build 14997 has leaked online. It has been a while since a beta build was leaked online, particularly due to the fact that the Windows 10 Insider Program is on a holiday break until early 2017.
The beta builds highlight some of the new features that Microsoft is working on which will be deployed to the public with the next major release that the company is calling Windows 10 Creator’s Update.
Beta users will find this new “Blue light settings” feature in the Settings app. They can adjust the color temperature or schedule the filter to be turned on at a specific time. It’s a minor feature but it’s going to make a world of a difference to those who use one of the many blue light filter apps that are currently available for Windows 10.
Microsoft is going to release the Windows 10 Creator’s Update early next year.
