To show off some of the engine’s capabilities, Kojima himself uploaded some sample images to his Twitter. As you can see in the image above and in the gallery, this is apparently a reproduction of Kojima Productions’ meeting room. Take away the spheres on the table and at first glance, you could easily think that it is a photograph.
Like we said, this isn’t the first time Kojima has relied on ultra-realistic looking graphics. Several years ago he showed off the FOX engine that was used for Metal Gear Solid games and that looked pretty amazing too. In fact fast forward 4 years later and the images still look pretty relevant and realistic, something that some 3D games and engines fail to achieve.
That being said, there is still no solid release date yet for Death Stranding which we’re sure is pretty frustrating for the fans. The game seems to star actors such as Norman Reedus and Mads Mikkelsen, and director Guillermo del Toro whom Kojima had previously worked with on titles such as Silent Hills and its playable demo, P.T.
