If you follow smartphone news, you might have heard that back in December 2015, HTC launched a mid-range handset called the HTC One X9. However fast forward to today and HTC has yet to announce a successor. This is because as it turns out, the handset’s successor has been rumored to be launched next year instead.
According to the rumors, the HTC One X9’s successor will be announced as early as next month. Given that CES 2017 is taking place in January, 2017 which is next month, we have to wonder if HTC will take advantage of the event to announce the handset, which right now is rumored to be called the HTC X10.
In terms of hardware, we have heard that it will feature a 5.5-inch Full HD display, and under the hood we can find a MediaTek Helio P10 octa-core chipset clocked at 2GHz. The phone will also come with 3GB of RAM, a 13MP rear-facing camera with OIS, and it is rumored to cost around $288. It’s definitely not the most powerful smartphone in the market today, but it does sound like a decent mid-ranger with a relatively affordable price tag.
Either way that it with a grain of salt, but check back with us next year for the details if there are any to be had.
