There are quite a few gimbals in the market today, but if you’re a fan of GoPro’s products, you’ll be pleased to learn that the company’s GoPro Karma Grip is now available for purchase. Launched alongside the Karma drone, the Karma Grip is basically a gimbal designed for use with GoPro’s action cameras like the Hero5 and Hero4.
In case you’re unfamiliar with gimbals like the Karma Grip, basically these are handheld stabilizers with built-in sensors that can detect when you move. The idea is that the gimbal can maintain the camera’s position despite you moving about, thus resulting in steadier footage when you’re taking videos.
Like we said, GoPro is definitely not the first company to release such a device. In fact DJI also has a similar device called the Osmo that at the most basic level offers up the same features. Note that the Karma Grip is the gimbal alone. You’ll still need to purchase the camera separately.
It should also not be confused with the Karma drone which was recalled last month due to instances in which the drone could suddenly lose power and fall out of the sky. If you are interested the GoPro Karma Grip is priced at $299 and is available from GoPro’s website.
