However it has since been discovered by Android Police that the Backups tab is starting to show up without users having to unhide it, as you can see in the screenshot above. They also note that in the latest Google Drive APK for Android, the backups tab is showing up as well, so users will be able to access it easily.
When the Backups tab is expanded, it shows you the various devices and apps that are connected to your Google Drive account that uses it for backup purposes. Clicking on the individual tabs will pull up a small pop-up that will show you what the storage is being used for, and users will be able to turn backup off for that app or device, or delete it entirely if you’re running low on Google Drive space.
As to what this is for, we guess it just provides users with more control over how their backup is being managed, and we guess users can also check to make sure that everything they want to backup is backed up. The feature isn’t live for everyone yet, so keep an eye out for it as it should eventually find its way to you.
