Apple finally started selling AirPods, its new wireless earbuds, about a week ago. They are not exactly cheap. The AirPods cost $159 and there’s a legitimate concern among customers who fear that they might end up losing one earbud. Replacing a lost AirPod is not going to be cheap either because Apple will charge $69 for it. If you haven’t bought them yet for precisely this reason, you need to see the solution this guy has come up with.
You might not necessarily lose the AirPods when you have them on and are out for a run. They’re stable enough to stay in your ears throughout a rigorous workout session. There’s no guarantee, though, that you may not end up losing one in a random place.
Andrew Cornett has a genius fix for this dilemma even though it involves keeping the AirPods on at all times. You see, he’s eliminating the fear of ever losing the wireless earbuds by sticking them inside his stretched ear piercings.
So there you have it. If you want a foolproof way to secure your investment in the $159 AirPods, get a big hole punched in your ear and stick the earbuds through them. If you’re not up for that, then be prepared to pay $69 for a lost AirPod at some point in the future.
