It has always been possible to save individual files from Dropbox for offline viewing but the cloud storage service is taking it a step further. As part of its constant efforts to enhance productivity for its users, Dropbox offline folders have been introduced today. Dropbox mobile offline features will enable users to keep working no matter where they are, whether or not they have an internet connection.
This feature is currently limited to Dropbox Pro, Business, and Enterprise users. They can tag an entire folder to have its contents automatically synced to a smartphone or tablet. This eliminates the need to mark individual files for offline viewing.
All they need to do is open Dropbox when they’re connected and the app will do the rest. This means users will continue to have access to their most important information even if they’re off the grid. Dropbox says that this has actually been a top feature request from users, it’s great to see that the company is following through.
The company says that this new feature is going to be rolled out for all Dropbox Pro and Business users over the next few days. The only caveat here is that the feature is only supported on the Dropbox Android app for now. It promises to roll it out for users on the Dropbox app for iOS early next year.
