As spotted by Hacker News (via The Verge), Bose has launched a website for a pair of headphones called the “Hearphones”. According to the websites, these are a pair of around-the-neck earbuds in which the headphones come with built-in microphones to allow users to hear the world around them.
Based on the list of features, it seems that users are able to focus and amplify sound around them to the levels that they desire. It also comes with a feature called Active Noise Reduction in which it’s something like noise-cancellation, except that it cancels the background noise so that you can focus more on your conversations.
The Hearphones even come with an accompanying “Hear” app that lets users control the settings via their smartphone. Bose has yet to officially detail the headphones like pricing and availability, but assuming the launch of the website is any indication, it could be pretty soon.
