In terms of design, the Beoplay H9 looks similar to the H7 launched last year and it will also sport an over-ear design (meaning that the headphone cups sit around your ears as opposed to on top of them). It will also be wireless, but one of the main difference is that the Beoplay H9 will have active noise-cancellation technology, versus the passive noise-cancellation on the H7.
Other than that, the H9s are pretty much the same as the H7s and will maintain the same touch controls found on its earcups, which can now also be used to turn on/off noise-cancelling. In terms of battery life, B&O claims that the headphones are capable of lasting a good 14 hours with noise-cancelling enabled. It has a removable battery so you can swap in a new one while waiting for the other battery to charge.
There is also an accompanying app that lets users monitor battery life, download software updates, and adjust sound settings. The headphones are currently available for order via B&O’s online store where they are priced at €499, a good €100 more than the H7. Alternatively if you prefer on-ear designs, the Beoplay H8 is an alternative with a similar design, wireless connection, and active noise-cancellation.
