In an announcement on HTC USA’s Twitter, the company has revealed that starting today, the Android 7.0 Nougat update for the HTC One M9 will begin rolling out. However we should point out that this is only for the unlocked version of the phone, meaning that if you bought your phone from a carrier, you can only expect to see the update in early 2017.
According to the announcement, it reads, “Android Nougat will begin rolling out to the unlocked #HTCOneM9 starting late this evening. Carrier variants to follow early next year.” The update will bring about all the new features of Nougat, save for those that are exclusive to the Google Pixel phones, like fingerprint gestures and Google Assistant, for example.
You should be able to expect the update already, but if you don’t receive any notification or see any updates available, not to worry as it should eventually find its way to your handset in the next few days.
