Amazon doesn’t quite have an online TV streaming service as yet but it has the next best thing called Amazon Channels which enable members to subscribe to major networks. The company today announced that Amazon Prime members can now subscribe to HBO Now and Cinemax through Amazon Channels. The subscription fee is charged on a monthly basis and subscribers are free to cancel at any time without having to incur any additional charges.
The HBO subscription costs $14.99 per month and provides access to all HBO shows as well as its library of on-demand content and movies. Subscribers can stream HBO whenever they want without requiring a cable package. It’s the same price as a standalone HBO Now subscription which offers the exact same thing.
Amazon Prime members can subscribe to Cinemax via Amazon Channels for $9.99 per month. The premier movie destination streams some of the most popular titles as well as its own original series like Outcast, Banshee, Strike Back, and more.
“HBO has produced some of the most groundbreaking, beloved and award-winning shows in television history,” said Michael Paull, vice president of digital video at Amazon, adding that the company is thrilled to work with HBO to bring its popular content to Amazon Prime members via Amazon Channels.
