The other day we reported that there was a huge update coming to Pokemon GO in the form of 100 Pokemon being added to the game. It was rumored that it would arrive this week, but as it turns out this week’s update is more about how Starbucks locations across the US are now considered PokeStops and Gyms.
The good news is that this long-awaited update won’t be too far off as it will arrive on the 12th of December as previously confirmed by Niantic. That being said, the folks at The Silph Road have done some digging and like we said, it seems that the update coming on the 12th will be the one that we’re all looking forward to. This is based on their digging in which they found references and sound files for the new Pokemon.
The update is also expected to introduce Pokemon genders, and there will also be Shiny Pokemon variants, which if you’ve played collectible card games are basically the “foil” variants of Pokemon. There will be more customization options, Pokemon costumes, but unfortunately there does not seem to be any mention of player battles or trading just yet.
In any case we guess we’ll have to wait and see what the update has in store for us, so check back with us next week for the details.
