Microsoft launched the Xbox Preview Program back in February 2014 to make it easier for console owners to give feedback, make feature requests, and share ideas with the company about how it can make the Xbox better for them. The company today announced that it’s opening up the Xbox Preview Program to all Xbox owners, it’s also renaming it to the Xbox Insider Program.
Microsoft says that the name change reflects how it’s expanding to provide opt-in opportunities for console owners to give feedback on Game and App Previews alongside System Update previews.
It has rebuilt the Xbox Preview Dashboard from the ground up based on fan feedback. The dashboard is now called Xbox Insider Hub and it’s personalized to give console owners more relevant announcements, quests, and Insider content opportunities for early access to select apps and games.
The dashboard also gets a new user interface that’s inspired by the New Xbox One Experience so that it’s easier for users to find the right information and provide more robust feedback. It’s adding support for multiple users on a console to participate and provide feedback as well.
Microsoft is rolling out these changes today to a small number of preview members who provided the most feedback since this program was launched more than two years ago. It confirms that the Xbox Insider Program will soon be open to all Xbox owners.
