The Legend Of Zelda Escape Room Game Being Created By Nintendo

Nintendo isn’t just working on The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. It’s also working on a new kind of Zelda experience, one that’s not something most fans will associate with this franchise. The company has revealed that it’s creating a new escape room puzzle game based on The Legend of Zelda. This real-world game is being created in partnership with escape room design studio Scrap, it’s called Defenders of the Triforce.

Nintendo is going to take Defenders of the Triforce on a tour across the United States so that fans across the country can experience this game early next year. Nintendo does point out that it’s going to be a bit different from a conventional escape room game.

Defenders of the Triforce is going to feature many Zelda elements that fans of the franchise are quite familiar with. Participants will have to work in teams of six to solve a mystery in a huge area within a defined time limit. This experience will enable them to interact with classic items and characters from The Legend of Zelda series, like the Goron, Zora, and Kokiri tribes.

Items discovered can then be used to solve puzzles and move forward into other areas, similar to how it works in The Legend of Zelda games. Nintendo is going to kick off the tour from San Francisco starting January 31st-February 5th. It will then be available in Los Angeles from February 10th-12th and in San Diego from February 24th to 25th. The tour will hit Seattle, Phoenix, Houston, Chicago, and New York as well but dates for those cities haven’t been announced yet.
