Steam Will Now Tell You Which Games Are OSVR Compatible

When it comes to virtual reality headsets for the PC, there is the HTC Vive, the Oculus Rift, and there is the OSVR platform in which gaming peripheral maker Razer has created some headsets for. Now for those wondering about games that are compatible with OSVR, you’ll be pleased to learn that Steam will help make that distinction clear.

Announced on its website, it seems that just like for the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift, Steam will now show a tiny icon next to titles that are compatible with OSVR. According to Valve, “Thanks to Open VR support, the OSVR HMDs launch with over 200 titles already showing support and more developers will be verifying support and adding the icon every day.”

They add, “This is the first new HMD we have added since this past spring when both the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive launched on Steam and this won’t be the last new headset supported. As the industry keeps growing, changing, and experimenting, Steam will be there to help you experience the latest VR content on whatever device you choose.”

This doesn’t really change the way that you play games, but if you own an OSVR headset and you’re looking for titles that are compatible, then this should help with the identification process.
