Snapchat, the company was recently renamed to Snap Inc., started selling the Spectacles smart glasses last week. It’s selling them through cute little vending machines that have so far appeared in various locations across California. Spectacles have now made their way to the East Coast but the company hasn’t just set up another vending machine, it has actually opened a pop-up store for Spectacles in New York City.
This isn’t like most pop-up stores that you might have seen from time to time in the Big Apple. It’s a very unorthodox pop-up shop that’s heavy on the branding but still relies on the vending machine to dish out the Spectacles.
The pop-up store is located in a building close to the iconic 5th Avenue. The entire facade of this building has been decorated with the Spectacles’ eye logo while inside the pop-up store there are multiple screens which show that this product is all about.
At the far end of the queue barriers, there’s just one vending machine that’s dispensing Spectacles so you may have to hurry or the stock might get sold out. You’ll find the pop-up store at 5 East 59th Street, the branding is pretty hard to miss once you’re there.
