It appears that Microsoft has taken a liking to insiders programs. The company is already running a Windows 10 Insider Program as well as one for the Xbox, and it has now launched the same for Skype. The Skype Insiders Program will enable users on a variety of platforms to take new features developed for the platform and test them before they’re released to everyone. The team will rely on their feedback to make any changes deemed necessary.
The Skype Insiders Program has been launched and is now open to the public. Those who want to take part in this program obviously need to be Skype users, they can now sign up for early access to features and improvements that are still being developed.
Microsoft says that this new program for Skype is going to help it “iron out any quirks before we release them broadly.” Users will be able to test the preview versions of Skype while still keeping the stable version of the communications platform on their devices.
Preview program members will get access to the latest versions of Skype for Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android so that they can take the new features for a spin and provide feedback that helps the company decide if there are some changes that need to be made.
New beta versions of Skype are already being tested for iOS, Android, and Mac. Emoticon search is a new feature in the beta version of Skype for Mac aside from improvements to call forwarding and voicemail. The mobile apps only get bug fixes.
