If you like spending money on Star Wars gear perhaps you might want to pick up this new smartphone from Sharp. Bear in mind that it’s only going to be released in Japan so either you’ll have to go all the way to the Land of the Rising Sun to get one for yourself or import it through other means. Sharp is going to launch this special edition smartphone in both Light Side and Dark Side variants because it takes inspiration from Star Wars after all.
This special edition Star Wars smartphone features a 5.3 inch full HD display, it’s powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor with 3GB RAM, 32GB of expandable storage aside from a 22.6 megapixel camera on the back.
A TV tune, one feature that you’re likely to find in most smartphones released in Japan, is present onboard as well. The handset has an IP58 rating as well which means it’s water-resistant.
The Light Side and Dark Side variants are only different when it comes to software as each variant as its own special set of customizations. Both come with an app which enables users to watch Star Wars: The Force Awakens for free as many times as they want until December 1st, 2019.
Sharp’s Star Wars smartphone is going to be sold via SoftBank in Japan start December 2nd for ¥97,920 or $870.
