There are many reasons why Pokemon GO is definitely not experiencing the same hype and excitement as it was back when it first launched. This is because while Niantic has been adding new features, there hasn’t really been anything new that makes players want to return to the game.
However according to a report from Silph Road, it has been discovered within the Pokemon GO APK that Niantic could be preparing a huge update to the game in which 100 new Pokemon from the second-generation could be added to the game. According to the code, the new Pokedex will introduce Pokemon like #152 Chikorita and will go up to #251 Celebi.
As Silph Road notes, the Pokemon have not been added to the game yet as it will require a client-side update. There is no word on when Niantic will introduce the new Pokemon, but it’s safe to say that their inclusion in the APK means that we should be able to expect the new Pokemon soon.
Niantic is also expected to introduce daily bonuses in an upcoming update, so we have to wonder if the new Pokemon will be part of the update as well. So far gamers are still waiting on being able to battle each other and trade Pokemon, but unfortunately those features don’t seem like they will be added anytime soon.
