Ever wanted to gift a friend a game using EA’s Origin platform? In the past you wouldn’t be able to, but that has changed as the official Origin Twitter account has announced (via PC Invasion) that starting from today, gamers will now be able to send games to their friends as a gift, as well as create wishlists of their own.
According to the tweet, “You asked, we listened. You can now gift games and build a wishlist on Origin. Go nuts!” Granted the feature wasn’t exactly a dealbreaker when it came to choosing which gaming platform to go with, but it’s a nice feature to have, especially if you’re looking to put together a list of games you’d like in the future, or send a friend a birthday gift in the form of a game.
As you can see in the screenshot above, when you’re about to purchase a game, you will now have the option of either purchasing it as a gift for a friend, or adding it to your wishlist. Prior to this, gamers did not have such options which meant that buying games for your friends meant having to use a different platform, or buying a physical copy and gifting it to them that way. The feature should already be live so if you want to start gifting in time for the holidays or put together your own wishlist, you should be able to do just that.
