OnePlus Promises To Look Into Touch Latency Issues

oneplus_3_001Yesterday we reported that according to a developer and subsequently confirmed by quite a few OnePlus 3 users, it seems that the handset is suffering from touch latency issues in which it was suggested that it was OnePlus’ tweaks to the operating system that is to blame, not the hardware supplied by their partners.

The good news is that if you’re wondering what the company plans to do about, it seems that they will look into it, but only after Android 7.0 Nougat has been rolled out. This is according to a tweet by OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei in which he wrote, “We hear the touch latency feedback, and will look at it soon. N has higher priority.”

Note that OnePlus does not guarantee a fix, but at least they are acknowledging it. We should point out that this seems to mostly affect the OnePlus 3. This is because an update issued to the OnePlus 3T seems to have addressed the issue, or at least in part as the changelog for the update mentions the touch display and also touch accuracy.

No word on when exactly we can expect a fix either, but OnePlus did previously state that the Nougat update should be rolled out to both phones by the end of the year, so the fix (if it arrives) will probably be next month or early next year. In the meantime we guess OnePlus users will have no choice but to live with it.
