However we have some bad news for would be iPhone 8 customers. According to a report from KGI Securities, it seems that while the OLED rumors are true, they will be exclusive to the iPhone 8 Plus model, and even then only some iPhone 8 Plus models will have it. This means that in 2017 we can expect at least 3 different iPhone models.
The rumored 2017 lineup includes the regular 4.7-inch iPhone, a 5.5-inch iPhone Plus model with dual cameras, and an iPhone Plus model with dual cameras and an OLED display. We can only assume that based on this distinction that the OLED model will be more expensive, which safe to say that many customers probably won’t be too thrilled about.
It is possible that maybe Apple could have a change of heart by that time. There were rumors that there would be a third Plus model this year that would feature dual cameras, but apparently Apple decided to make it simple by giving all Plus models the dual camera setup, so hopefully that will be the case in 2017, but until then take it with a grain of salt.
