Nintendo announced the NES Classic a couple of months ago. This mini-console is basically a smaller version of the original NES, it comes with a select amount of games aimed at gamers who are looking for a bit of nostalgia. Nintendo released the mini-console on November 11th as promised but you might find it hard to get your hands on a NES Classic right now because all inventory quickly sold out. Nintendo has now promised to release additional inventory over the coming weeks.

The NES Classic has been priced at $60 and it comes with 60 pre-installed games including the likes of Super Mario Bros., Donkey Kong, The Legend of Zelda, and more.

The company did say right off the bat that it expected demand to be very high and that customers who were looking to pick one up should better hurry as inventory was limited.

It’s pretty much impossible to pick one up from Amazon right now as the mini-console is listed as out of stock. Nintendo has confirmed in a series of tweets that it’s going to release additional inventory over the coming weeks.

Nintendo says that the NES Classic is a “hot item,” and that it’s working hard to keep up with consumer demand. “There will be a steady flow of additional systems through the holiday shopping season and into the new year,” it added.

The company is telling customers to contact their local retailers to get more information about availability. The list of participating retailers is available on the company’s website.
